Entreprenuerial Training Programs and Consulting

About Us

Our nonprofit was founded after our founder, Tricia D. Young, Principal of TLE Consulting Group and a Technical Assitance Provider for the City of Boston received an invitation to join Boston Mayor Martin Walsh's mentorship movement to help inspire more inner-city young people who may or not have a criminal record, be in school, or have a job to learn more about entrepreneurship, where crime (i.e. drug dealing, shootings) among this demographic in inner-city Boston is high and a problem that the city is fighting to address.

This led to her designing a business exploration and start-up program for young people in collaboration with ROCA and other local agencies where accepted participants vie for a chance to have their businesses launched and co-managed by TLE Consulting Group. In 2015, I launched she non-profit, the TLE Center for Urban Entrepreneurship to house this and other training programs for young people, and have been working on our mission to help young people start companies ever since.

We are currently working to establish a business incubator lab where all of our program participants will have access to co-working space and the specialty services needed to help them grow ventures to where they are perceptibly contributing to their local communities.

EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF URBAN ENTREPRENEURS

We provide entrepreneurial training, one on one technical consulting, and access to the critical resources our entrepreneurs will need to not only launch their ventures but also stabilize and grow them.

For those who are thinking about starting a business, but not yet ready to do so, we have created a one-year exploratory program. The Business Exploration & Startup Program trains participants to think like an entrepreneur and ask the right questions on the path to business ownership. It also provides access to resources, mentorship, and valuable networking opportunities.

Our pre-accelerator program is a 12-week entrepreneurial program where budding entrepreneurs and small business owners conduct primary and secondary market research. In this program, participants validate the need for their offering in the marketplace and develop a solid business model that succinctly demonstrates how they plan to make money from their ventures or projects. Those who have successfully completed the program are also referred to a partner accelerator program to execute their launch/growth plans and further develop their businesses. The program is geared towards a maximum cohort size of twelve entrepreneurs, and with a mix of pre-start, startup, and early stage businesses per cohort.
